Sports Science and Performance Department
The responsibility of the Sports Science and Performance Department is to optimize our players on ice performance as well as off-ice development. This is achieved by employing various testing protocols and player evaluations. Biomechanics, Physiology, Nutrition, Mental/Emotional and Performance analysis give coaches and medical staff invaluable insight into individual needs, allowing them to push the developmental potential of every player.
With the help of Mind to Muscle Strength & Conditioning Centre and Georgian College’s Exercise Physiology Lab, Barrie Colts athletes are evaluated throughout each season using state-of-the-art technology to perform testing protocols recognized around the world.
Many North American professional sports teams have developed Sport Science programs in an attempt to maximize player performance, including the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Raptors.
Coaches and Strength & Conditioning staff use the data collected to direct individual training goals, allowing us to help the athlete reach their physical potential.
