COLTS SEND BUONOMO TO SAULT STE. MARIE

The Barrie Colts have announced today that they have completed a trade with Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.

The Barrie Colts obtain Sault Ste. Marie’s 4th round pick in the 2014.

In exchange the Colts send the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, defenseman Chris Buonomo.

Buonomo was originally drafted by the Peterborough Petes, a 3rd round choice (46th overall) in 2008. Barrie acquired Buonomo on November 18, 2010 from Peterborough along with Guelph’s 5th round choice in 2011 for Barrie’s 10th round choice in 2011 and a 4th round choice in 2013.

Chris Buonomo is now off to play in his hometown Sault Ste. Marie: joining his third OHL team in five seasons. Chris played 108 regular season games in a Colts uniform and 13 playoff games.

In 194 career games in the OHL Buonomo has 32 points and 323 penalty minutes.
