The Barrie Colts have called a press conference for Friday at 3:00 p.m. where they are expected to announce the first overall pick in the 2011 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection presented by State Farm.

Barrie has rights to the first overall selection for the second time in club history after finishing in last place in 2010-11 and missing the playoffs for the first time in their 16-year existence.

The last time the Colts had the first overall pick was in 1995 when they entered the league as an expansion team and selected Daniel Tkaczuk.

The Colts have several picks in the first two rounds and also own the number one overall pick in this year’s Import Draft.

The OHL Draft takes place Saturday, May 7th at 9:00 a.m.
