The Barrie Colts have announced today that they have claimed defenseman Liam Maaskant off waivers from the Erie Otters.

The Erie Otters originally drafted Liam Maaskant in 2010 in the 8th round (150th overall). The 6’3 205lbs defenseman has yet to suit up in the OHL this season. Maaskant is a physical, aggresive defenseman who shows some interesting potential and will add more size to the Colts blue line. Liam appeared in 67 games last year for Erie registering 4 goals and 4 assists along with 74 pims.

The Colts next home game is Thursday October 11th, 2012 vs. Saginaw Spirit. Click here for tickets.
