Set of Colts Set to Await their Fate at the NHL Draft!

Two Colts forward will find out their destiny later this week when they hear their name selected by an NHL club in Montreal. The 2022 NHL Draft is set to take place at the home of the Montreal Canadiens at the Bell Centre on July 7th & 8th.

Hunter Haight and Beau Jelsma finished the season being ranked 44th & 88th among North American Skaters by NHL Central Scouting in the final ranking of the season.

Haight finished 2021-22 with 41 points (22 Goals, 19 Assists) in 63 regular-season games played while notching five points (One Goal, Four Assists) in 6 playoff matches.

Jelsma finished his season registering 47 points (27 Goals, 20 Assists) while playing in all 68 regular-season games. He finished his first season fifth among OHL rookies in goal scoring.

“It’s always a special time of the year when you get to see the next group of players get to fulfill a lifelong dream. Beau and Hunter have had to work extremely hard, on and off the ice for this. It wasn’t easy throughout the 2020-21 shutdown and the obstacles of this past season. It’s going to be great to watch them this coming week and the entire Barrie Colts organization will be proud” Commented Assistant General Manager, Rob Stewart

The NHL Draft opens up on Thursday, July 7th with the 1st Round starting off at 7 pm ET. The host Montreal Canadiens are set to select 1st Overall. Day two of the draft gets going at 11 am ET with Rounds 2-7.
