With four selections in the first three rounds, the Colts added four new members to the Colts family!
With the 10th overall selection in the draft, the Colts went over to Ottawa and selected the 6.02 & 190lb power-forward, Cole Beaudoin from the Nepean Raiders. Beaudoin registered 77 points (24 Goals, 53 Assists) across 32 games played. With his 77 points, Cole led all 2006-born skaters in points in the HEO-U18 league. This is the first time in Colts franchise history the Colts have selected 10th overall.
With the next selection 26th overall, the Colts went back to drafting size and selected Carter Lowe from the Toronto Marlboros organization. The 6.02 184lb forward compiled 50 points (23 Goals, 27 Assists) in 46 games, finishing second on his team in points.
The Colts were right back at it with the 29th selection, selecting Lucas Ellinas from the North York Rangers organization. Across 18 games, Ellinas finished his season with 22 points (11 Goals, 11 Assists). The intelligent centreman possesses a high degree of skill but was forced to have a condensed season due to an injury.
With the Colts final selection of the day, they went back to the North York Rangers organization selecting the smooth-skating defenceman, Kashawn Aitcheson. Kashawn brings a high degree of compete every shift while possessing a lot of traits that will translate well into the OHL.
The Colts scouting staff is back at it tomorrow morning starting at 9 A.M. It’s set to be a busy day ahead as the Colts are set to make 14 selections, with the first pick being 73rd in the fourth round.
