BARRIE COLTS WELCOME TWO NEW ADDITIONS AFTER 2021 CHL IMPORT DRAFT

Following the completion of the 30th annual CHL Import Draft which took place on June 30th, the Barrie Colts are pleased to announced two new additions.

In the 1st round, with the 3rd overall pick (1st in the OHL), the Barrie Colts selected, at defence, Artur Cholach from the Sokol Kiev.

In the 2nd round, with the 118th overall pick, the Barrie Colts selected, at forward, Oskar Olausson from the HV71.

“We are very excited to welcome Artur and Oskar to our team. Both boys speak English and were excited to be drafted by the Barrie Colts. Artur is a big left shot defender and Oskar is a high scoring left winger. Our job now is to get both boys over here and into Barrie”, commented Marty Williamson, Acting General Manager of the Barrie Colts.

Having followed the OHL Priority Selection and the OHL U18 Draft, the CHL Import Draft completes the pre-season selections for the 2021/2022 season. Overall, the Colts drafted 12 forwards, 6 defence and 2 goalies.

Barrie is set to hit the ice in September, with their home opener scheduled for October 7th against the Niagara IceDogs.
