The National Hockey League today announced their final draft rankings for the upcoming NHL Entry Draft to be held in Pittsburgh on June 22nd and 23rd.

NHL Central Scouting identified both Tanner Pearson and Mathias Niederberger of the Barrie Colts.

Pearson finished third in Ontario Hockey League scoring with 37 goals and 54 assists for 91 points in 60 games played, but was sidelined for the playoffs after suffering a season-ending injury on the final day of the regular season.

This year Pearson played for Team Canada at the World Junior Championships, in the Home Hardware OHL Top Prospects Game, and in both legs of the Subway Super Series.

Pearson is ranked as the 25th best skater heading in to June’s draft and the eleventh best in the OHL.

Niederberger, fresh off a 65 save performance Sunday in Ottawa, is the 24th ranked goalie and the ninth best in the OHL.

The native of Duesseldorf, Germany went 29-14-1-2 in his first season in the OHL with a 2.68 goals against average and a .918 save percentage.

He ranked fifth in the league in wins, sixth in goals against average and seventh in save percentage.

Niederberger is 5-3 in the 2012 post-season with one shut-out.  The Colts and 67’s have each won a game in their Eastern Conference semi-final series with game three to be played Tuesday night in Barrie.
