The Barrie Colts welcomed the Oshawa Generals to the Barrie Molson Centre Saturday night as they were looking to win their third straight overall and third straight against the Generals.
Oshawa paid some revenge to the Colts with a 5-1 win, after dropping back-to-back games to Barrie by a combined score of 11-2 in mid-February.
Colin Behenna was given a match penalty early in the first period giving the Generals a five-minute power play, which the Colts were able to kill off. Just seconds after the Colts got back to even strength Oshawa got on the board with the lone goal of the opening period coming from Boone Jenner.
The teams exchanged goals in the second period with Jenner adding his second of the game to make it 2-0. Then it was Anthony Camara banging home a goal from Ivan Telegin and Ryan O’Connor on the power play.
The Generals scored three straight in the third period and took this game by a 5-1 decision. Scott Sabourin, Lucas Lessio and Scott Laughton posted goals for Oshawa who pick up a much-needed victory.
Kevin Bailie stopped 41 of 42 Barrie shots and was named first star.
Mathias Niederberger stopped 22 of 27 Oshawa efforts.
