COLTS LOOK TO MOVE TO 3-0 IN EXHIBITION PLAY
The Barrie Colts improved their pre-season record to a perfect 3-0 on Thursday night after defeating the Sudbury Wolves 5-3 at the Barrie Molson Centre.
Clint Windsor allowed one goal through a period and a half of action before being relieved by Mathias Niederberger. The German net minder allowed two goals in the second period but would return to form in the third to make some spectacular saves and hold on for the win.
Victor Terreri, and Tanner Pearson each picked up a goal and an assist en route to the 5-3 win. Colin Behenna and Kyler Nixon both had three assists, while Zach Hall and Erik Bradford also scored for the Colts.
The Colts enjoyed a 3-0 lead after Terreri scored at 5:30 of the middle frame. Sudbury would respond shortly thereafter with a pair of goals in 2:07 to make it 3-2.
Zach Hall’s power play goal restored the two-goal cushion. Bradford’s third period goal added the insurance needed to capture the victory.
Barrie looks to go 4-0 Friday night in Guelph. Next week the Storm come to the BMC on Thursday, September 15th and then Barrie will travel to Sudbury on Friday, September 16th.
The Colts regular season home opener is on Thursday, September 22nd against Kingston.
