The Barrie Colts scored twice in the second period and twice in the third and held off the Kitchener Rangers for their third win of the pre-season.
Mathias Niederberger stopped 27 of 29 shots and led Barrie to the 5-2 win.
Ryan O’Connor had a goal and three assists and now leads the Colts in scoring with three goals and four assists in just three games played.
The Colts opened the scoring with Anthony Camara’s third of the pre-season from O’Connor and Mark Scheifele, who was playing in his first game of the year.
Camara now has goals in each game he has played thus far in the exhibition schedule, as he tipped home the O’Connor shot to make it 1-0 Barrie.
The Rangers bounced back in the second period with back-to-back goals to make it 2-1 Kitchener. Domenic Alberga and Tobias Rieder tallied goals for the Rangers 44 seconds apart to give them a brief lead.
2:32 later Brendan Bell scored his second of the pre-season from O’Connor and Zach Hall.
O’Connor and Hall would get together again late in the frame to set up Alex Lepkowski on the power play who beat Franky Palazzese to make it 3-2 Barrie after 40 minutes.
Camara set up line mate Josh MacDonald 48 seconds in to the third to make it 4-2 Colts, and then it was O’Connor blasting home a point shot from Jonathan Laser and Zach Hall.
Barrie plays next in Kitchener on Friday night.
