The Barrie Colts and Kitchener Rangers hooked up at the BMC Thursday night to conclude their two-game season-series.  The Colts were looking to sweep the Rangers and keep up their stellar record against the Western Conference.

After the Rangers opened the scoring in the first minute of the game the Colts came back with three straight first-period goals to establish a 3-1 lead.

Tanner Pearson collected his 35th of the season from Steven Beyers and Reid McNeill.  Just five minutes later Alex Lepkowski skated in and beat John Gibson for his eighth of the campaign from Colin Behenna and Mark Scheifele.

Then on the power play it was Aaron Ekblad scoring for the first time in 19 games as he got a point-shot through with assists going to Beyers and Behenna.

Just over two minutes later the Rangers cut the lead to a single goal with a great individual effort from Andrew Crescenzi who beat Mathias Niederberger.

The Colts poured in another two goals in the second period to take a 5-2 lead.  Ivan Telegin keeps up his hot play, as he approaches the 30-goal plateau with his 28th from Zach Hall and Daniel Erlich.

Erik Bradford then chipped in with his third goal of the year with just under two minutes left in the second frame.

The Rangers scored in the third period to make it a 5-3 final.

Mathias Niederberger stopped 35 of 38 shots and wins on consecutive nights.
