The Barrie Colts picked up their third straight victory Monday afternoon in Oshawa as they take a 6-1 decision against the Generals on Family Day. Barrie got off to another great start and were led by three goals by Ivan Telegin and a great performance by Mathias Niderberger as they win for the eighth time in the last ten games.
After scoring three times on their first five shots Saturday night in Barrie the Colts picked up where they left off, as they scored three times on their first four shots against Kevin Bailie and the Generals on Monday afternoon.
Ivan Telegin got the offense rolling 83 seconds in to the game as he took a pass from Steven Beyers and blasted his 20th past Bailie.
Then on the power play the Colts passed the puck around perfectly with Tanner Pearson finding Beyers who went to Ryan O`Connor who made no mistake for his eighth of the year.
Just 2:09 later the Colts once again notched a power play goal as Daniel Erlich gained the zone, stopped on a dime and found Zach Hall who went behind his back to Telegin for a wide-open tap-in goal.
The Colts came out with another power play goal to start the second period as Zach Hall made a great diving play to poke the puck to a streaking Telegin who converted for the hat-trick.
Not even three minutes later the Colts would tally their fourth straight power play goal as Colin Behenna scored his 24th from Scheifele and Beyers to make it 5-0.
Oshawa would score late in the second to make it 5-1, and then Anthony Camara scored to make it a 6-1 final.
