The Barrie Colts passed the first test of their exhibition schedule Sunday afternoon with a 6-2 victory over the defending OHL Champion Owen Sound Attack. It was the first pre-season game for both clubs who will complete the tail end of a home and home series Monday evening at the Barrie Molson Centre.
Clint Windsor started and stopped 35 of 37 shots as the Colts scored four unanswered goals and breezed to the 6-2 victory.
Ivan Telegin scored very early on to give the Colts a 1-0 lead. Rookie Josh MacDonald made it 2-0 in the second before the Attack came back to tie the game at two.
Tanner Pearson, Dylan Smoskowitz, Alex Yuill and Mark Scheifele rounded out the scoring for Barrie.
Barrie plays five more exhibition games before preparing for the regular season home opener. They finish up their home and home series with the Attack on Monday and then play Sudbury and Guelph twice leading up to the start of the regular season on Thursday, September 22nd against the Kingston Frontenacs.
