The Barrie Colts are now 1-0 in the pre-season after a 3-1 victory at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Arena in Owen Sound Sunday afternoon.
It was the first leg of a home-and-home series, which will wrap up Monday at 6:00 p.m. at the Barrie Molson Centre.
Mathias Niederberger pitched a shut out through 31 minutes before giving way to Alex Fotinos who allowed just one goal to the Attack.
Ryan O’Connor and Josh MacDonald each had a goal and an assist and Anthony Camara also scored to lead Barrie to the win.
Dylan Corson, Zach Hall and Andreas Athanasiou were all given game misconducts after receiving separate five minute fighting majors.
The Colts opened the scoring on the power play in the second period when Michael Webster fired a shot on goal that was tipped by Camara and got through Brandon Hope.
92 seconds in to the third period the Attack would tie things up on a Zach Nastasiuk backhand that fooled Fotinos.
Moments later Erik Bradford would break in to the Attack zone and fire a pass to Brendan Perlini, who went to a wide-open Ryan O’Connor who spun and backhanded a shot top shelf to restore the Colts lead.
Barrie would add an insurance marker on the power play as Alex Lepkowski found O’Connor who fired a cross-crease pass on the tape of Josh MacDonald who had no problems tapping in his first of the pre-season.
These clubs will meet again on Monday at the BMC for a 6:00 p.m. puck drop. Click here for tickets.
