Colts Acquire Jason Smith from Steelheads

Barrie, ON– Barrie Colts General Manager & Head Scout Jason Ford announced tonight that they have completed a trade with the Eastern Conference, Mississauga Steelheads.

The Colts acquire Centre, Jason Smith from the Mississauga Steelheads in exchange for a 7th Round pick in 2017.

Jason, who was drafted by the Steelheads in the 8th Round of the 2013 OHL draft has played parts of three seasons with Mississauga. The Brampton, ON native has played in 145 OHL games, collecting 11 goals and 15 assists.

Expect to see the 19 year old in the lineup this weekend as we play in Kitchener on Friday, followed by Niagara at home and then in North Bay on Sunday.
